Eliza's Newborn Session

I warned you that there are many newborn sessions to come! Eliza was the perfect little model. She let us stick her in all sorts of places and did very little complaining. She is the first daughter of one of my friends and sorority sisters from college, and I was excited to see her again. Congrats Bethany and Stephen, she's precious!

Here's my newest newborn prop... It took me forever to narrow down my favorites. They had the perfect grass for a basket shot!

If only you knew how excited I get when moms pull out cute bows, hats, or flowers for me!

Caleb: Newborn Session

So... May is the month for newborn sessions :) Caleb was my first of 3 newborns last week, and I was loving it! I can't get enough of my newborn sessions. The are my absolute favorite!

I have been waiting for a couple of months to finally meet this little guy. He had to stay in the hospital a little longer than expected, so had our session a little later than we had planned. Caleb was such a sweet baby, I think he'd do fabulous at any age!

Caleb's Grandfather is a firefighter, so I was really excited to incorporate these firefighting goodies!

The Gates Family

I love these boys. They are so very cute together. I think I'm developing a weakness for brothers.

I love how these pictures capture the brother bond that they've already developed.

It makes me wish I had more time to get pictures like this with my boys!

The Schwartz Family: 4 Month Session

It's hard to believe that this little one is already 4 months old! It seems like just yesterday that I met her for her newborn session. She is so petite and soooo simply adorable! I am lucky to be her photographer. We were originally scheduled to have our session on the rainy stormy weekend a few weeks back, and then our rescheduled date turned out being one of the only chilly days we've had lately but she was a trooper. I just love this diaper cover that mom found!

(The #1 reason I prefer 4 month pictures over 3 month pictures, great head support. She did great on her tummy!)

Mason: Newborn Session

Little Mason's mommy and daddy get the bravest parents award. They traveled from Arkansas to Memphis with a 12 day old for newborn pictures! And yes, I feel so lucky to have them travel so far for me to photograph their little guy. He was such a good baby too. Since he slept the entire way here in the car, I knew he'd be awake for a while. He was stayed calm and relaxed while we moved him around. He'd just doze off now and then.

My VERY favorite from this session.

For newborn sessions, I always recommend a naked baby. Too many clothes on such a little person can sometimes look ridiculous. Plus, I figure you have the next 18 years to dress them for photos, so why not do some naked ones when they're little? Anyway, I also suggest for parents to bring hats, blankets, or any items with their baby's name to incorporate. So mom brought this sweet little onesie with his name on it. (I also highly recommend www.etsy.com for fabulous knit newborn hats and other props if you have a newborn session coming up.)

Emily: Newborn Session

I have been so excited for Emily's newborn session! Her mom and I were sorority sisters in college, and it has been forever since we've seen each other. Her daddy is designing my new website, which will be up as soon as I am brave enough to handle the change.

Emily was the perfect baby for her session. She slept right through us moving her from place to place, not to mention she's absolutely adorable! Congrats Amber and Joe!!!
