Madison is my new friend and neighbor's little girl and Lawson's new best bud. Her mom and I took the kiddos on a quick playdate/photo shoot to try out a new location that I'd been wanting to visit. Unfortunately the spot had full sun in all of the places I wanted to try, so we were confined to my least favorite area. Between the lighting and 2 very busy and distracted toddlers, I didn't expect any good pictures. However, I surprised myself and found a few pretty good ones of the two of them!

I blinked...
...and my baby turned into a little boy.
Where does time go?
I'm not sure if it's the fall clothes or that he's really just gotten that big. I love photographing these moments for everyone else so much, that sometimes I feel like I don't photography my own kids as much as I'd like. It's probably a good thing though, because I wouldn't have enough wall space to frame them all!
The previous two pictures are a couple of my favorites of my little man. The first one looks like such a GQ pose, and the second one is a face of his that I see ALL the time. I love that I have it captured from now on. I'm amazed that I got any good ones, it is sooooo hard to take pictures alone, let alone of an 18 month old!

Favorite Product and a Sale: Photo Boards
I've posted about photo boards before, but I just wanted to share a new one that I just ordered for our new house. I have so many pictures, with so many more that I want to frame, that it's pretty much essential that I group my pictures. This is a grouping that I did with some beach pictures. I love the way the photo board looks with the framed pictures. I get tons of compliments when people see them in my home. The great thing about photo boards is that you don't have to stick to traditional sizes since you don't have to buy a frame. Plus plate holders are much cheaper than frames. So this is a budget friendly way to display your pictures also!
Photo boards will be 15% off for the month of October. Photo Board pricing is on my website. They would make a great Christmas gift! If you've had a session in 2010, and need me to upload your session, just send me an email to let me know.

Fall What to Wear
I love, love, love fall clothes! Chunky sweaters, scarves, boots...
The best part about a fall photo session is that you can put your kids in those great layered outfits that look so good on the mannequins in the store, but you know your kids would never really wear.
I spied some adorable corduroy dresses at Target the other day. I think they were only $12. Too bad I don't have a girl to put in one, but the next best thing is to photograph a girl in one!
One of my favorite photography sites posted a new What to Wear idea board, and I had to share. The weather is cooling off, and I can't wait to see what everyone pulls together!

The Shelton Family - Middle Tennessee Photographer
I have been loving finding and photographing all new locations, but I was a little nervous for this one. Brandi and I used to teach together, and I've been photographing her little one since she was about 4 months old. She used to drive to Memphis, but now that I'm in Nashville, we had to find a location to meet in the middle. The best place I could think to find was a park in between us. So, I looked up parks online, found a good spot in the middle, and set a location with only seeing a few pictures.
We really had no idea what to expect, so you can imagine how excited I was when we got there. We found a fabulous little spot with a creek, where I could have stayed all day. On top of that, we had a pretty ambitious schedule including several outfit changes, props, locations, etc. I'm so glad that Miss P was such a cooperative girl!

The Paranjape Family - Nashville, TN Photographer
You can't tell it's starting to feel like fall from this next set of pictures. I love the colors from this session, and I'm thinking it may be the last of the vibrant greens until the spring.
One of my friends in Memphis set me up with this family, and I am sooo glad she did! They were so relaxed and so much fun, and I think you can tell from their pictures. This next picture describes our session perfectly.

So Very Sweet - Nashville, TN Family Photographer
I am working on the sneaks from my latest session in Nashville and came across this sweet one. I was just thinking how these siblings were so sweet together, and then I realized that they were holding hands. See it? So adorable!
