E's Newborn Session | Nashville TN Newborn Photographer

Miss E officially rang in the new year for me, and she sure didn't disappoint. From her sweet little yawns to her huge smiles, she's about as precious as they get.

I may have taken the picture of the year only 5 days in. It was the biggest newborn smile I've ever caught, much less seen! Mom's words, "That just made it all worth it." And I completely agree!

Logan Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Logan, Logan, Logan... Don't let these pictures fool you, but little Logan was not ready to sleep for his debut photo session. There was too much to see and too much to do. He made his mommy, aunt, and me work for these, but they sure are worth it!

When you have big, beautiful eyes like this, what's the point in hiding them by sleeping???

Livia's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Precious little Livia's parents brought her to me for a newborn session this weekend in Memphis. Her mommy is a friend of mine and amazing teacher. She was my interim teacher when I was on maternity leave with my little man. When she asked me about photographing her newborn session, we talked about the dates I'd be in town and the dates they may drive to Nashville. I was hoping that everything would work out, and it did! Livia decided to arrive a couple weeks early just in time for Thanksgiving. She was 9 days old for our session and smiled more than any other newborn I've photographed. I think she may already love having her picture taken. I'm so happy that I was able to photograph her and see her sweet parents. Congrats W Family! She is beautiful :)

This flower is actually a necklace that her parents brought. It swallows her now, but it would be fun to use it for each of her photo sessions as she grows.

Judah's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Mr. Judah was such a sweet little man. He let us include everything that we had planned for his session, and by the time we were finished, he was so deeply asleep that I hated leaving. I absolutely LOVE those pouty lips!

He was another one of my 3 weekers, and I'm so glad he was sleepy for us. His mommy was so flexible with me getting her squeezed in, but like many of my new clients, she didn't know that she needed to get her newborn session in so soon. We need to get the message out to all of my Hendersonville and Nashville mommas... Schedule your newborn session while you're still pregnant. Or even better, give a Shannon Payne Photography gift certificate to an expectant mommy. What a great gift!

Kensley's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

I know I've said this a ton lately, but I have to say it again. There is nothing I love more than a newborn session. I can't think of anything much better than snuggling with a new baby, quietly shushing them, and playing a little bit of dress up too. Miss K was so very cooperative with the dress up part, which makes me very happy. Enjoy!

Reese's Newborn Session | White House TN Newborn Photographer

Beautiful baby Reese is officially my oldest and biggest newborn. She was 4 weeks old for our session and started it off bright eyed. I loved seeing her beautiful eyes, but I explained to that sweet girl that she needed to close them so that we could get some precious sleeping pictures too. So with a little swaddling and heater magic, she drifted off for us. I just loved her pouty lips and baby rolls. This girl was 10 pounds when she was born, can you believe it !?!

Cody: 4 Days | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Cody was so excited to have me photograph his newborn session that he made an unexpected arrival a few nights before I arrived in Memphis. I love hearing birth stories, and Cody's is by far the best one yet. I was so excited that he came in time for my trip. His sister was one of my very first newborns, and her parents even used her 1 year session with me to announce that they were expecting him. I love watching my clients family's grow, and I really love the fact that my clients in Memphis are still willing to work with me even though I'm so far away. Thanks "S" family for letting me be a part of Cody's first days!

Ryanne's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Ryanne's Mommy and I used to teach together and has two of the cutest boys ever. I never thought she'd have a little girl to grace my blog. But lucky thing! She tried for #3 and got a girl! Little Miss was 4 weeks for our newborn session but slept like an angel, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

MaKayla's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

I'm sure I've said it a million times, but I LOVE little girl newborn sessions. I have so much fun picking out blankets, wraps, headbands, etc. I can't accessorize my own boys, which makes newborn sessions so much fun. Miss M was 3 weeks old for our session, which is past my ideal window to photograph a newborn. But she was such an awesome sleeper for our session. We got so much great stuff, and I can't wait to share!

Kathryn's Newborn Session | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Miss K was due July 31st. I thought for sure that we'd do her newborn session before I left for Florida, but she had other plans. She decided to hold off 2 weeks PAST her due date. I joked with my husband on the way that she'd be too big for any of my newborn accessories. She ended up weighing about 7 pounds, far less that the big baby I had in mind, and with a full head of beautiful hair. Kathryn, I'm sure you'll have many surprises for us in the year ahead, and I can't wait to watch you grow! Congrats D Family!

Jones Newborn Session | Nashville TN, Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

One of my favorite little families just added a boy to the mix, and I couldn't be happier for them. Congrats Jones family! I can't wait to see more of your little man while you're here in Nashville.
