Guess who turned 1?

Well, this is my official first session and family in Nashville! I've been so excited to share this session. This sweet family actually just moved to the Nashville area from the Memphis area too. They also have 2 boys and a few mutual friends. So we had lots in common. I'm in love with baby "R"s beautiful blue eyes. He was such a trooper for our session and stayed awake and happy longer than any 4 month old I've photographed.

The Kirchner Family

The last time I photographed this family was around Christmas time. Shortly after, they found out that they were expecting another baby. I was thrilled when I found out that they were adding a sister to the mix and even more thrilled when they asked me to photograph her first year. She's going to have to be a tough one to survive with 2 brothers, but after starting out at 10 pounds, I think she's got a good head start!

A session I'm working on...

I couldn't resist sharing. This little sister arrived weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds! I couldn't believe it. If I didn't know, I would have thought she was just a sleepy 3 month old. More from this session soon...

The Murray Family

Last time I photographed this little one, she was sitting and all smiles. This time, she was crawling, pulling up, and still all smiles. This was one of my last sessions in Memphis before we moved, so this is another mommy who has waited a bit for her sneaks. Thanks for being so great, Carmen!

The Hassenzahl Family

It's been a year since I officially started my photography business, and I have learned so many things. One of them being that all babies act totally different in new surroundings. You can take the happiest baby, stick him or her in the grass or a basket, and get a big smile, a big scream, or no reaction at all. This little cutie chose the no reaction route. She wasn't fussy, but she just wasn't smiley either. She was just kind of mellow in every spot and outfit where we put her. Luckily, I had a beautiful baby with cute accessories, so she looked great... smile or no smile!

I give every one of my 4 month session clients a little warning. 4 month olds have a very small window of happy wake time before they are ready for another nap, and we will reach point when they are done whether we are finished or not. I took this sweet picture right at that moment.

The Schwartz Family

Last time I photographed Little Miss was for her 4 month session, and she was not very into a photo shoot that day. That left her mommy a little worried for her next session. Within about 5 seconds, I think we eased mommy's fears, because she was all smiles this time. I don't even think I posted a sneak peek without a smile, because she was literally smiling for the entire session. I absolutely loved this session.
